Several former WWE Women's Champions will be in action on Saturday in the Women's Royal Rumble, including Carmella, Rhea Ripley, Naomi, Natalya, The Bella Twins, Lita, Michelle McCool, Bianca Belair and Mickie James.

One former women's champion will also make their surprise return in the Rumble Match, according to Wrestling Observer's Bryan Alvarez.

Speaking on Wrestling Observer Live, Alvarez noted Ronda Rousey will step in a WWE ring for the first time in almost three years on Saturday as a participant in the Women's Rumble.

"Yes, I was told Ronda Rousey will be in the Royal Rumble. Suppose anything can happen but that was the word. I heard that a while ago," he said.

Furthermore, Wrestling Observer's Dave Meltzer reported Rousey is scheduled to be in action at WrestleMania 38 and "confirmed plans are on the table for her return," although if that return would take place at the Rumble was not confirmed.

This comes after reports on Monday revealed WWE were pushing for Rousey to return, with Fightful Select noting she had been discussed as a possible participant in the Women's Rumble.

The former Raw Women's Champion hasn't competed in a WWE ring since the main event of WrestleMania 35 when she dropped the women's title to Becky Lynch in a Triple Threat Match also involving Charlotte Flair.

The Baddest Woman On The Planet has stayed away from the ring since then and she gave birth to a daughter in September of 2021.
