Stephanie McMahon Teases Announcement Of WWE UK PPV

Stephanie McMahon appears to have suggested an announcement regarding a WWE pay-per-view in the United Kingdom is on its way.

Reports have circulated for a number of months that WWE will finally be returning to the UK for a major pay-per-view event in 2022, with the announced schedule for WWE's shows next year leaving a gap for a major event without a announced venue in early September.

Asked outright if there’s any update on the situation, McMahon told Metro.co.uk: "There is no formal announcement, but I will just say – we’ve been saying it for a while, but we are excited about upcoming announcements."

Fans across the United Kingdom have been desperate for a huge WWE event on these shores for years, with WWE's last pay-per-view held in the UK coming in 2003 as the promotion presented Insurrextion from Manchester. 

However, it is SummerSlam 1992 that lives long in the memory of many UK-based wrestling fans, which was presented from the old Wembley Stadium almost 30 years ago.
