Swerve Strickland Shuts Down Talk Of A WWE Return

Swerve Strickland will not be going back to WWE

Triple H has made an impact on WWE TV since he took over as head of creative following Vince McMahon's resignation and Paul Levesque has brought back several former talents, including Karrion Kross, Dexter Lumis, and Dakota Kai.

The latest return took place on the August 22 edition of Monday Night Raw as Johnny Gargano appeared inside a WWE ring for the first time since his contract expired in December of 2021.

Gargano's return led to renewed calls from WWE fans for Swerve Strickland to come back to the company but Swerve had a succinct response to the idea. In a since-deleted interaction, a fan on Twitter wrote that Swerve would be the next talent to return to WWE, to which Strickland simply replied, "Nope."

This followed initial calls for Strickland to go back to WWE after his former faction Hit Row returned on a recent episode of Friday Night SmackDown. Top Dolla noted, though, that following the group's WWE releases in November of 2021, Swerve told them he wanted to do his own thing.

Strickland has since signed with All Elite Wrestling, making his debut at March's Revolution pay-per-view, and he is currently one-half of the AEW World Tag Team Champions with Keith Lee.
