The Fiend Captures Universal Title At WWE Crown Jewel

He's been let in...

In stark contrast to the widespread negative response from WWE Hell in a Cell nearly four weeks ago, response to the Universal title match at Crown Jewel on Thursday has been much more positive - no thanks to the red mood lighting, but rather due to there being a new champion.

The Fiend conquered titlist Seth Rollins in a falls count anywhere match after 22 minutes to capture the title.

Rollins threw everything imaginable at The Fiend, including a series of Curb Stomps on the stage, and even knocked him off the stage into an area with electrical equipment, resulting in the residual pyro explosion. The Fiend, however, shook off the attacks, sunk the Mandible Claw in on Rollins, and finished with Sister Abigail.

For Bray Wyatt, this marks his second overall World title as part of WWE, following his seven week reign as WWE Champion in early 2017.

Wyatt also becomes the fourth man to hold both the WWE and Universal belts, following Rollins, Brock Lesnar, and Roman Reigns.
