The New Day Win WWE NXT Tag Team Titles At Deadline

The New Day are the new WWE NXT Tag Team Champions following their win over Pretty Deadly at Deadline on Saturday, December 10. 

After a widely-praised 14-minute match, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods earned the victory on Saturday after Kingston first hit Elton Prince with a Trouble in Paradise on the outside before The New Day combined for Midnight Hour on Kit Wilson for the 1-2-3.

With the win, Pretty Deadly's second reign as NXT Tag Team Champions ends at 97 days. Kit Wilson and Elton Prince regained the gold on September 4 at Worlds Collide after they defeated Brooks Jensen & Josh Briggs, The Creed Brothers, and Gallus to unify the NXT and NXT UK Tag Team Championships. The New Day, meanwhile, have held the SmackDown, Raw, and NXT Tag Team Titles in WWE across their eight years as a faction. 

How long The New Day will remain NXT Tag Team Champions remains to be seen but Shawn Michaels noted during the post-Deadline media call that he is hoping to have New Day at Vengeance Day in February.
