The Shield To Deliver "Farewell Address" At Opening Of WWE Raw

But is it the end?

After defeating Drew McIntyre, Bobby Lashley, and Baron Corbin at WWE Fastlane, in what was billed as their final match as a group, The Shield's Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, and Dean Ambrose will be delivering a "farewell address" at the start of tonight's Raw in Pittsburgh, according to WWE's official Twitter.

The apparent finale of the three as a team is due to reports that came out in late January, that Dean Ambrose had given his notice to WWE that he would be leaving the company at the end of his contract, which reportedly expires in late April.

Ambrose's contract situation and ostensibly-impending exit have been a talking point in recent WWE storyline canon, which is unusual. Some have speculated that Ambrose may not be leaving after all, and that the ongoing story of his departure is being milked for storyline purposes.

Bryan Alvarez of Wrestling Observer Live reported one week ago that the backstage sentiment is that Ambrose had a change of heart about leaving. Dave Meltzer, however, later noted that the prevailing idea is that Ambrose is still out at the end of April.
