The year 2019 has already been an eventful one in professional wrestling, with this latest development among the most startling occurrences.

The Undertaker, after more than 28 years of continuous employment as a WWE headliner and cornerstone, has begun taking appearances outside of his longtime wrestling home. That availability has led to Thursday's blockbuster announcement.

Sports Illustrated broke the news

that Undertaker would be appearing at the Starrcast II convention in Las Vegas at the end of May, the same weekend as AEW's Double or Nothing pay-per-view. The official advertising for the appearance lists him as, "Mark Calaway aka The Undertaker."

Conrad Thompson has noted that Undertaker's appearance does not necessarily have any connection to Double or Nothing, noting, “We have wrestlers appearing from every promotion from all over the world, and Starrcast isn’t just for All Elite Wrestling fans, it’s for all wrestling fans."

While Starrcast bracelets go on sale to the general public beginning noon Eastern time Friday, The Undertaker's event doesn't go on sale until later this month.

Undertaker's last WWE match, to date, came at Crown Jewel in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, as he teamed with Kane in a lengthy nostalgia match against Triple H and Shawn Michaels.
