The Young Bucks Top 2021 PWI Tag Team 50

Best In The World

The Elite have picked up another accolade from Pro Wrestling Illustrated in 2021.

Following the reveal that Kenny Omega had topped the PWI 500 earlier this year, the wrestling magazine announced today that The Young Bucks have topped the second-annual PWI Tag Team 50.

The evaluation period ran from October 1, 2020, until September 30, 2021. Criteria used to rank the tag teams included momentum, win-loss record, chemistry, creativity, activity and "it" factor.

The Young Bucks held the AEW World Tag Team Championship for much of the evaluation period, defeating FTR for the gold at Full Gear in November 2020 before holding the belts for 302 days and dropping them to The Lucha Brothers at All Out in September 2021.

The Bucks were featured as two of AEW's top stars throughout the evaluation period and they had widely-praised matches against a combination of Death Triangle members and Eddie Kingston, Jon Moxley and The Mad King, Santana and Ortiz and FTR.

The Young Bucks rose from 11th in 2020 to win the 2021 Tag Team 50. Last year's winners were FTR.

PWI Editor-In-Chief Kevin McElvaney revealed the top five of the Tag Team 50 is:

1. The Young Bucks - AEW
2. The Lucha Brothers - AEW
3. Dangerous Tekkers (Taichi & Zack Sabre Jr.) - NJPW
4. The Usos - WWE
5. ALK (Giulia & Syuri) - Stardom
