Three Matches Confirmed For Next Week’s NXT

A title match and an appearance from the NXT Champion are set for May 11

Following on from the events of last night’s edition (May 4) we will see a Cruiserweight Title Match, a continuation of the Dain & Maverick vs. Imperium rivalry, and NXT Champion Karrion Kross will be in action for the first time since his title win against Finn Balor at NXT TakeOver: Stand & Deliver Night Two in April, all taking place on the May 11 edition of NXT.

Kross will be going one-on-one with The Way’s Austin Theory in non-title action, after Theory and The Way’s patriarch Johnny Gargano laid-out Kross on May 4. The attack happened during a skirmish between Kross and several NXT superstars laying claim to the number one contendership.

NXT Cruiserweight Champion Kushida will put the title on the line against former champion Santos Escobar in a two-out-of-three falls match. After Kushida lifted the title from Escobar several weeks ago, the animosity between the two has only grown, with Escobar and Legado del Fantasma recently attacking Kushida on NXT TV.

Imperium’s Alexander Wolfe will take on Killian Dain in singles action on May 11, despite Wolfe’s allegiances being unclear. Wolfe recently disobeyed orders to hit his former SANity team-mate with a chair, but also prevented Dain from throwing Wolfe’s current Imperium team-mate Barthel into a ring post on last week’s show.

Here’s the current line-up for the May 11 edition of NXT:
• Raquel Gonzalez (c) vs. Mercedes Martinez - NXT Women’s Championship
• Kushida (c) vs. Santos Escobar - NXT Cruiserweight Championship Two-out-of-Three Falls match
• Karrion Kross vs. Austin Theory
• Killian Dain vs. Alexander Wolfe
