Thunder Rosa Addresses Sandbagging Allegations

Thunder Rosa comments on if she sandbagged Marina Shafir

Thunder Rosa has addressed social media accusations that she sandbagged Marina Shafir on last week's episode of Dynamite in their AEW Women's World Championship match.

Speaking to the MMA Hour, Rosa stated: "No, and I'm going to say it how I said it in the New York Post, I have nothing but respect for my opponents, nothing but respect for my opponents. Anyone that dares to stay in the ring with me, I have nothing but respect to my opponents and I send them nothing but blessings.

"Moving on forward, I will continue to work harder to have the best matches I can bring and to bring the most opportunities for all the women that are behind me. People are going to talk and that's fine, I'm not worried about that. I will continue to move forward and I will continue to show with my body of work what I am all about. That's all I have to say."

Rosa also posted a photo on Instagram of her and Shafir holding bread with the caption: "Today day we take responsibility and work on being better. Because at the end of the day we break bread. Two mothers navigating a world in where we both never ending learners. @marinashafir."

Rosa will next defend the AEW Women's World Title at the Forbidden Door pay-per-view on June 26 against Toni Storm. Rosa has been the women's champion for 92 days since she defeated Britt Baker at St. Patrick's Day Slam in a Steel Cage Match.
