Thunder Rosa Formally Signs With AEW

She'd been wrestling for the promotion since September

Former NWA Women's champion Thunder Rosa has formally signed with All Elite Wrestling, as announced by the company on Thursday afternoon.

AEW tweeted out the standard "...is All Elite" graphic to herald Rosa's signing with the company.

Though she originally began appearing for AEW at the end of last summer, Thunder Rosa remained signed with the NWA. Her first appearances on AEW programming were as NWA Women's champion, before she ultimately dropped the title to Serena Deeb in October.

It's not clear when Rosa's NWA deal officially lapsed.

Thunder Rosa made her in-ring debut for AEW last September. More notable matches within the company include an unsuccessful challenge of Women's champion Hikaru Shida at the 2020 All Out, and a win over Britt Baker in an unsanctioned "lights out" match in March.

Given AEW's penchant for exchanging talents with other organizations, it's possible that Rosa could still make appearances for the NWA. She most recently appeared at Impact's Slammiversary on Saturday, losing to Knockouts champion Deonna Purrazzo.

News of Thunder Rosa's AEW signing comes on what is her 35th birthday.
