WWE have a number of former wrestlers in authority figure roles across the company's programming, including Adam Pearce on Raw and Nick Aldis on SmackDown, but WWE are about to add an active wrestler to a general manager position.
According to BodySlam, Timothy Thatcher is scheduled to be the new general manager of WWE EVOLVE moving forward. The NXT to NXT developmental brand had been without a GM since Stevie Turner was released by WWE in October 2025.
Thatcher has been working with WWE on the company's ID programme, and he has also wrestled several matches on WWE EVOLVE, facing the likes of Sean Legacy, Charlie Dempsey, and Keanu Carver. Thatcher previously wrestled for WWE as part of NXT on a full-time basis from February 2020 until August 2021. The former GHC Tag Team Champion then transitioned to a coaching role before his release in January 2022.
Alongside his WWE ID role, Thatcher has remained active on the independent wrestling scene, performing for Supreme Pro Wrestling, DEFY, wXw, House of Champions, Warrior Wrestling, and West Coast Pro in recent months.
