Title Changes Hands On WWE SmackDown Live

Read on if you wish to know...

Tuesday night's episode of SmackDown Live from Wilkes-Barre, PA proved to be rather newsworthy, and not just because it was the go-home broadcast for WWE Fastlane - there was also a title change.

Samoa Joe is the new United States champion, having won the title in a fatal four way over defending champion R-Truth, and fellow challengers Rey Mysterio and Andrade.

The match was yet another open challenge from R-Truth, in the spirit of his sudden John Cena idolatry. Mysterio and Andrade answered the challenge just as they did a week ago, with Joe tossing his hat into the ring as well.

Joe scored the win by pinning Andrade with a twisting uranage, after breaking up Mysterio's pinfall attempt on Andrade with a crushing senton that flattened both men.

The title victory marks Joe's first championship win on the main WWE roster.

In Joe's victory promo, he name-dropped Cena during a rundown of all of the things he isn't about and doesn't represent, including his lack of love for the man whose open challenges R-Truth was mirroring.
