TNA Wrestling have eyes on an indie star who is set for the WWE’s next tryout session.

Ahead of WWE’s next tryout sessions during SummerSlam weekend (August 1 & August 2), TNA have given their own tryout match to name on WWE’s radar, with J-Rod seemingly having caught the eye of both companies.

Per a report from Fightful Select, the current OVW Women’s Champion was given a tryout match at TNA’s Nashville tapings earlier this year, with a source telling Fightful that J-Rod remains on their creative radar despite the recent changes to TNA’s creative team.

It was noted that J-Rod’s name has come up in TNA creative circles for a while, and under the jurisdiction of former booker Tommy Dreamer it was decided that J-Rod was not ready at the time to make the jump to the promotion.

J-Rod is one of twelve names set to undergo a WWE tryout during SummerSlam weekend in Minnesota, joining the likes of Pro-Wrestling NOAH’s Titus Alexander, MLW’s Josh Bishop, and Nightmare Factory graduate Brooke Havok, amongst others.

WWE often hold tryout camps during major premium live event weekends, with current NXT star Lizzy Rain receiving a WWE contract after a successful camp.
