TNA’s rebirth and growth continues in a positive direction, with the brand looking to run weekly live TV if they can secure a new TV deal.

The partnership with WWE NXT has drawn a lot more eyes and attention upon TNA, and during a conversation with johnwallstreet.com, TNA President Carlos Silva has revealed plans for the promotion’s expansion:

“[A] new media rights deal will help us build a more consistent fan base with larger reach,” Silva said. “It will also provide us the opportunity to go live 52 weeks a year, and in today’s world live matters [in terms of fan interest and revenues].”

Silva further spoke on TNA IMPACT’s current viewing figures, noting that live episodes of the show do around 100,000 viewers but the hope is for “A weekly number between 250,000-500,000, in terms of Nielsen-esque P2+ households, is perfectly realistic on a network [that is a good fit and] in 40 or 50 million homes,” continued Silva.

A ballpark valuation of about $10 million per year is being floated by TNA Wrestling as they enter talks over a rights deal, with Silva noting that talks have taken place with “[all the established] linear guys and a couple of newer platforms that need a foundational [programming] centrepiece.”
