TNA Wrestling officially created a new championship on Thursday night's edition of TNA IMPACT.
TNA Director of Authority Santino Marella interrupted a promo from TNA Digital Media Champion Steph De Lander and stripped her of the title. It was then announced the Digital Media Title would be transformed into the International Championship, with the inaugural champion set to be crowned in a tournament final at Unbreakable.
To pay tribute to the iconic Samoa Joe vs. AJ Styles vs. Christopher Daniels match at Unbreakable 2005, every match in the TNA International Title tournament will be a three-way.
The first tournament match will take place on next week's episode of TNA IMPACT of AJ Francis vs. Mance Warner vs. Sami Callihan. The other first-round matches will take place at Unbreakable of Eddie Edwards vs. Ace Austin vs. Steve Maclin and Zachary Wentz vs. JDC vs. Eric Young. The final will then take place later in the night.
TNA Unbreakable will air as a TNA+ special on Thursday, April 17 from the Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas. Nevada.
The TNA Digital Media Title was created in 2021. Steph De Lander became the champion as part of her storyline divorce from PCO, who took a sledgehammer to the belt at GCW's Hammerstein Ballroom show in January.
