Tommaso Ciampa Returns On WWE Raw

Tommaso Ciampa returned from injury on WWE Raw

Tommaso Ciampa is back on WWE TV after a long absence.

The two-time NXT Champion had been out of action since a September 2022 house show match with Bobby Lashley, undergoing hip surgery one month later. Ciampa made his return on the June 19 edition of Monday Night Raw in Cleveland, Ohio, answering The Miz's open challenge.

It initially appeared Ciampa was simply on his way to the ring to reform his alliance with The Miz but he suddenly laid out the former WWE Champion to set up the match. Ciampa then went on to defeat The Miz after four minutes with the Fairytale Ending.

After several years in NXT, Ciampa headed to the main roster following WrestleMania 38. He was initially renamed as just 'Ciampa' but regained his first name after Triple H was appointed WWE Chief Content Officer. Ciampa also received a push, challenging for the United States Championship, before suffering the hip injury.

There has been much speculation about Ciampa's return which only increased after he was backstage at the May 29 edition of Monday Night Raw. Rumours have tipped him to reunite with Johnny Gargano and reform #DIY at some point.
