Tomohiro Ishii Earns Spot In AEW All-Atlantic Title Match At Forbidden Door

Tomohiro Ishii advances to AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door

Tomohiro Ishii will represent New Japan Pro-Wrestling in the AEW All-Atlantic Title match at AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door on June 26.

NJPW held a four-man tournament to determine their representative and Ishii defeated Clark Connors in the final today at the promotion's New Japan Road event. Ishii previously overcame Yoshinobu Kanemaru in the semifinal, while Connors picked up a win over Tomoaki Honma.

The inaugural AEW All-Atlantic Champion will be determined in a Four-Way at Forbidden Door. Ishii joins PAC and Miro in the match, while the final qualifier between Malakai Black and Penta Oscuro will be held on Wednesday's edition of Dynamite.

A member of CHAOS, Ishii has competed twice in AEW before. He debuted in the promotion back in November of 2021 as he and fellow CHAOS faction-mate Orange Cassidy defeated The Butcher and The Blade. Ishii then returned to AEW and lost an Owen Hart Foundation Men's Tournament Qualifier against Adam Cole in April of 2022.

The Forbidden Door pay-per-view will take place on Sunday, June 26, at Chicago's United Center. The show will be headlined by an Interim AEW World Title match between Jon Moxley and Hiroshi Tanahashi.
