Ahead of what is expected to be her imminent return to All Elite Wrestling, Toni Storm has claimed she is retiring from the business.
Speaking with SB Nation, Storm stated: "I've failed at everything. I lost in AEW, I lost in Japan, I lost in Mexico. This is the last you'll hear from me again. Enjoy Mariah May as your champion. You can all enjoy that."
Storm hasn't appeared in All Elite Wrestling since dropping the AEW Women's World Championship to Mariah May at August's All In pay-per-view from Wembley Stadium. She has since unsuccessfully challenged Mayu Iwatani for the IWGP Women's Championship in Stardom and lost to La Catalina in CMLL. Storm hasn't wrestled at all since October 18.
Reflecting on what is claimed to be the end of her career, Storm said one moment she regretted was meeting Mariah May.
"When I met Mariah May. I'd been on the top of the world for many, many years. I delivered. Then Mariah came onto the scene and everything went tits up," Storm added.
After saying she would prefer a hamster-sized rhino because she wouldn't be able to handle a rhino-sized hamster, Storm signed off with a modified version of her catchphrase, saying: "Chin down. Tits in. Don't bother watching for the shoe."
Social media speculation has suggested this is simply a cover for a possible Toni Storm return at Saturday's Full Gear pay-per-view. Mariah May and Mina Shirakawa are booked for the show as part of a championship celebration. You can still buy tickets for Full Gear.
