Tony Khan 'Almost Certain' AEW X NJPW Forbidden Door II Will Happen

AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door II is a realistic proposition according to Tony Khan

Whilst AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door in June wasn’t as hyped as many would have hoped heading to bell time, the event ended up being one of the best shows of 2022, further strengthening the working relationship between AEW and NJPW.

Reports have long suggested that a follow-up event could take place, and during the post-ROH Final Battle media scrum on December 10, AEW/ROH President Tony Khan gave his opinions on a potential Forbidden Door II event:

"In talking about New Japan and that collaboration, bear in mind, the great success of Forbidden Door means there will be a Forbidden Door 2, I'm almost certain. And I'm very excited about that,” said Khan.

There’s no word on if Forbidden Door will be part of AEW’s PPV rotation for 2023, but the two companies continue to work together, as seen when Tomohiro Ishii recently returned to AEW to face Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship on November 23, whilst Kenny Omega and FTR will both be heading to NJPW for Wrestle Kingdom 17 in January.
