Tony Khan believes WWE's sale to Endeavor and upcoming merger with UFC is a huge positive for professional wrestling.

Speaking on Maggie and Perloff, Khan reiterated he had been interested in purchasing WWE before he gave his thoughts on the upcoming WWE-UFC merger.

"I can't speak to that except to say that I was interested. It will also be very interesting to see what happens with that sale. Certainly, in many ways, it's a big positive for the pro wrestling business and I think the huge attendance numbers and TV and streaming numbers for pro wrestling and the great sales for AEW on pay-per-view and all the big merchandising numbers show that pro wrestling is really back as an industry in many major ways in 2023 and AEW is a big part of the conversation. That's all been really positive for us," Khan stated.

The sale of WWE to Endeavor was officially announced on Monday, April 3. WWE will merge with UFC under a new parent company at some point in 2023. The new company will be led by Ari Emanuel, while Vince McMahon will be the Executive Chairman of the new organisation. Nick Khan will become President of WWE.

WWE have reported record profits in recent years and that is expected to continue in 2023.

AEW, meanwhile, will hold their biggest event to date later this year with All In set to emanate from Wembley Stadium in London, England. Over 65,000 tickets have already been sold for the August 27 show. A new TV deal for AEW is expected to be announced by Warner Bros. Discovery later this week.
