Tony Khan On AEW's Growth In The Last Two Years: "We're Ahead Of Schedule”

AEW has had a meteoric rise in two years

Last night saw the second anniversary show of AEW: Dynamite, with the first ever edition taking place on October 2 2019.

In those two years, AEW’s rise has been rapid, with 2021 seeing the company become the most buzzworthy pro wrestling promotion on the planet. However, in conversation with PWInsider’s Mike Johnson ahead of the anniversary show, AEW President Tony Khan said that AEW’s current success is ‘ahead of schedule’, saying:

“I believed we would go a long way in two years. I'm not sure I believed in two years, we would've reached as far as we have. These were long term goals and two years is a long time. But for long term goals, I would say we're ahead of schedule and I'm really excited about the anniversary show to be going back to Philadelphia to celebrate the two year anniversary of Dynamite. It's one of the most special wrestling towns and to be able to celebrate the anniversary of Dynamite there is very special to me with a lot of the hardcore fans I grew up with.”
