Tony Khan: ROH Isn't Developmental For AEW

Tony Khan revealed that ROH will be a separate promotion, NOT AEW developmental

The second Ring of Honor show under Tony Khan’s umbrella happened this past weekend, as Death Before Dishonor 2022 further showed what a Khan led ROH might look like.

Aside from the PPVs, little has been clarified about ROH’s future as rumours of a TV deal continue to swirl. However, Khan did make clear that ROH would not be a developmental league for AEW, saying the following during the post-Death Before Dishonor media scrum:

“It happened really quickly,” said Khan on buying ROH earlier in 2022. “I had an opportunity and had to make a decision that day. Take it or leave it or it’s going to sell to the other obvious person that it would sell to. And I thought for many reasons it was the right move. It worked out so great as a business move for everyone involved. I don’t see Ring of Honor as developmental for AEW at all. I see AEW ‘Dark’ as developmental for AEW.”

Several current and former ROH stars have appeared across AEW TV since Khan bought the promotion, with the ROH World, PURE, Women’s, Tag Team, and TV Championships all defended within AEW.
