Tony Schiavone: AEW Has Been The Best Two-And-A-Half Years Of My Career

Schiavone is happy in AEW

Tony Schiavone has reflected on his run in All Elite Wrestling ahead of Full Gear and the former voice of WCW described his time at the AEW commentary table as "the best two-and-a-half years of my career."

Schiavone told Sports Illustrated: "It's been the best two-and-a-half years of my career. It's worth your weight in gold to work for good people, and it's a pleasure to work here. I can't stress this enough - the acceptance of the fans for my return has been mind-blowing. So for me, it's really easy doing what I do because I love it so much."

Schiavone has worked in professional wrestling since 1983 and he became synonymous with World Championship Wrestling as the lead commentator on Monday Nitro.

Outside of a brief appearance in TNA, Schiavone would be outside of the business for 16 years after WWE bought WCW in 2001, eventually returning to the industry in 2017 with his What Happened When Podcast.

Schiavone would then do commentary for MLW before signing with All Elite Wrestling in August 2019. He has been a commentator on Dynamite alongside Jim Ross and Excalibur ever since and he became the voice of Dark: Elevation with Paul Wight earlier this year.
