Triple H Addresses LA Knight Not Winning The Men's WWE Money In The Bank Ladder Match

Damian Priest captured the briefcase instead of LA Knight at WWE Money in the Bank

There were three favourites heading into the men's Money in the Bank Ladder Match on Saturday, July 1 in LA Knight, Damian Priest, and Logan Paul and the fans inside The O2 in London, England made it clear they wanted Knight to be the man to grab the briefcase and earn a future title match.

Unfortunately for those in attendance, WWE creative decided to go in a different direction and just as LA Knight was about to grab the briefcase, Damian Priest grabbed Knight by the throat and hit a Broken Arrow from the top of the ladder. Knight was Priest's final obstacle and the Judgment Day member scaled the ladder and captured the briefcase to win the match.

Triple H addressed the decision to have LA Knight lose at Money in the Bank and the Chief Content Officer reasserted his mantra that the story never ends, similar to his comments about the infamous booking that saw Cody Rhodes lose to Roman Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania 39.

"For him, I know LA Knight was a massive favourite coming in tonight, continuing that ascent. But, you know, great things come to those who wait, right, and that rise is just getting started," Triple H said during the post-Money in the Bank press conference.

WWE's post-Money in the Bank plans for LA Knight are currently unknown. The former Eli Drake remains a talent on Friday Night SmackDown.
