Triple H On NXT: "We Opened The Door For Being An Alternative"

The COO speaks...

With less than a week to go before NXT premieres on the USA Network, Triple H spoke to Yahoo Sports about the brand's move to cable television, and about being an "alternative" product to the contemporary WWE fare.

Specifically, Triple H addressed the perception that All Elite Wrestling's product is the genuine "alternative" to WWE, arguing that NXT has owned that mantle for some time.

"If you talk about the upstart, what they’re going out and saying is that they’re an alternative,” says Triple H. “We were that alternative five years ago. We opened the door for being an alternative, we opened the door to show people that it can be done on a bigger level and on a different basis.

"As far as being the alternative, great, go put on the best show you can put out, and we’ll put out the best one we can put out.”

NXT and AEW's TNT show will have their first head-to-head battle when AEW premieres its own two-hour show on Wednesday, October 2.
