The Ultimate X Match is returning to IMPACT Wrestling.

The promotion have confirmed that Josh Alexander will defend the X-Division title in the Ultimate X match at Slammiversary on July 17 against Trey Miguel, Ace Austin, Chris Bey, Rohit Raju, and Petey Williams.

The five challengers for Alexander's X-Division Championship were chosen after a number one contenders bout between Trey, Austin, Bey, Rohit, and Petey at Against All Odds ended in a no contest when Madman Fulton got involved.

The X-Division match at Slammiversary 2021 will be the first time the stipulation has been used since April 4 2019, when an Ultimate X Match took place at IMPACT United We Stand. That match featured John Morrison (Johnny IMPACT), Ace Austin, Dante Fox, Jake Crist and Pat Buck. John Morrison won the bout which earned him a future X-Division Championship match.

Slammiversary 2021 is shaping up to be a heck of a card with the IMPACT World Championship match between Kenny Omega and Sami Callihan confirmed. Moose will also battle Chris Sabin on the pay-per-view.
