Adam Copeland announcing his retirement

2027 will be Adam Copeland's final year competing inside a professional wrestling ring but little has been determined as to how his retirement will play out.

WrestleVotes on Fightful Select has reported that nothing is set in stone around dates and locations for when the former Edge's final match will take place in 2027. The same source speculated, however, that All Elite Wrestling will likely try to have Cope's last match take place in his hometown of Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Tony Khan addressed Copeland's impending retirement on the pre-WrestleDream 2026 media call, noting even he is unsure how far into 2027 that Cope plans to wrestle.

"I think he'll have a great run here throughout the next year and into 2027. I don't know how much longer exactly Adam will want to go but I would say this is what he talked about to me about that 2027 was going to be the last year he would want to wrestle. And I’ve accepted that," Khan said.

After revealing that Christian Cage was currently out of action with three broken ribs and a collapsed lung, Adam Copeland announced on the October 14 edition of AEW Dynamite that he would retire from pro wrestling in 2027.

"My face isn't on the posters on a teenager's wall anymore. I'm ageing out, and that's okay. It happens to everybody. But because of that, I just want to let you all know that 2027 will be my last year in professional wrestling," said Copeland.

When Adam Copeland does retire, 2027 will bring to an end a pro wrestling career that has featured multiple world championships after 35 years.
