All Elite Wrestling haven't scrapped plans for another edition of Grand Slam Mexico, and the show will be taking place in the second half of 2026, Dave Meltzer has reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
The first AEW Grand Slam Mexico was held on June 18, 2025 from Arena México as part of the working relationship between AEW and CMLL. Meltzer noted this year's event will be later in the year than June.
Grand Slam Mexico was expected to return in 2026, and AEW CEO Tony Khan confirmed as much in December 2025.
The inaugural edition of AEW Grand Slam Mexico featured wrestlers from across All Elite Wrestling and Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre. The most high-profile match saw Mistico - who made his entrance to Me Muero - defeat MJF by DQ, with Friedman and the Hurt Syndicate unmasking Mistico after the match.
In the main event, the Death Riders, the Young Bucks and the Beast Mortos defeated Samoa Joe, Powerhouse Hobbs, Katsuyori Shibata, Swerve Strickland, and Will Ospreay in a 10-man tag. Mercedes Moné also defeated Zeuxis for the CMLL Women's World Championship at the show.
