Bron Breakker had been a featured performer across WWE TV, but he was officially written out of the company's programming on the February 9 edition of Raw as Michael Cole announced Breakker had sustained an injury during training and he would be on the shelf indefinitely.

This came after Breakker underwent surgery for a serious hernia. PWInsider has reported that Breakker had been dealing with the issue for some time, but it was determined last week that he would require surgery. Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted the surgery came about after the hernia flared up and Breakker was advised by WWE's doctors to get it taken care of.

Whether Breakker will be back in action for WrestleMania 42 is not a certainty, but sources in WWE were optimistic to Fightful Select that Breakker can return in time for the company's biggest weekend of the year.

Breakker's WrestleMania 42 plans have already changed in 2026. The son of Rick Steiner was the original planned winner of the 2026 men's Royal Rumble to set up a World Heavyweight Title match with CM Punk, but those plans were scrapped in place of Roman Reigns winning the Rumble. Breakker's hernia did not cause plans for a Rumble win to be changed.

Instead of winning the Royal Rumble, Breakker entered at #2 and was attacked by a masked man on his way to the ring which resulted in him being eliminated in 10 seconds. The angle was done to build to Bron Breakker vs. Seth Rollins at WrestleMania 42, Dave Meltzer reported in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, but WWE's plans for WrestleMania are now up in the air after Triple H changed them again.
