Eddie Kingston has been out of action for a year, but could the former AEW Triple Crown Champion be nearing a return?

According to Dave Meltzer in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the last word he received on when Kingston could return to action was May 2025 and unless there has been a delay, Kingston should be returning to All Elite Wrestling soon. Meltzer noted, however, they have not been told if Kingston will be returning at Sunday's Double or Nothing pay-per-view, but AEW would be trying to keep Kingston's return quiet regardless.

Eddie Kingston himself has looked to quash speculation he will be returning at Double or Nothing, telling PWInsider:

"I am not there.  I have started running in the ring. I am still doing physical therapy and I am mentally better. Yet again, as people know, it's a struggle, but being able to be in the ring again and work out with PT and working out with Cezar [Bononi] is helping my mental health, let alone my body. I can finally feel the ball is moving in the right direction."

Speculation has been rife about Kingston returning during the Anarchy in the Arena Match at Double or Nothing, especially since the introduction of Gabe Kidd into the programme. The NJPW star has not been made an official participant in the match but he has interfered on AEW TV on the side of the Death Riders and speculation has suggested he will be involved in some capacity at Anarchy in the Arena.

Eddie Kingston has been out of action since May 11, 2024 when he suffered a fractured tibia, torn ACL, and torn meniscus during his No-Rope Last Man Standing Match against Gabe Kidd after Kidd suplexed Kingston onto the guardrail.

Kingston has since suffered from stomach issues, which he noted had been caused by stress. Kingston has been spending his time out of action watching classic ECW, NJPW, and AJPW.
