Update On Grizzled Young Veterans' AEW Status

Latest on Grizzled Young Veterans’ AEW status

The Grizzled Young Veterans made their shock return to All Elite Wrestling at All In 2024, with James Drake and Zack Gibson staring down AEW World Tag Team Champions The Young Bucks before assaulting FTR inside Wembley Stadium.

Although AEW have not publicly announced whether the top Scousers have signed with the promotion, a report from Fightful Select suggests that a deal has been agreed, with the two sides believed to have been negotiating in recent months.

James Drake suggested on X/Twitter that the team had indeed signed, posting the following:

“GRIZZLED. ALL ELITE. VETERANS. Bet on yourself. Grit. Your. Teeth.”

The GYV debuted for AEW in April 2024, losing to The Acclaimed in tag action on the April 27 edition of AEW Collision. Prior to this, the Vets had wrestled several matches in TNA Wrestling in early 2024, having departed WWE NXT in October 2023.

Former NXT UK Tag team Champions and PROGRESS Tag Team Champions, it remains to be seen if Drake and Gibson will wrestle primarily on AEW TV in a tag division that needs a little tlc, or if they will be used in Ring of Honor.
