Update On Matt Cardona's TNA Status Following Return

Latest on Matt Cardona's TNA Wrestling future

Although the moment has yet to air, Matt Cardona will make his return to TNA Wrestling in the coming weeks, having made an appearance at the TNA IMPACT tapings from Philadelphia's 2300 Arena over the weekend.

Steph De Lander won her comeback match at the event, coming away with the victory in a Four-Way against Xia Brookside, Dani Luna, and Rosemary following interference from Matt Cardona who hit a Radio Silence.

Cardona looks set to be sticking around in TNA Wrestling for the time being. The former Digital Media Champion confirmed to Fightful Select that he is on a per-appearance deal with TNA, although he remains a free agent. Cardona said, "Alwayz. Then. Now. Forever. Quote me on that."

TNA Wrestling have switched from offering full-time deals in recent months to per-date contracts, something that actually works in Cardona's favour, although the change overall has surprised much of the TNA roster.

Cardona spent two years in TNA from January 2021 until January 2023, holding the IMPACT Digital Media Championship at one point. He exited the promotion as he didn't want to sign a full-time deal and Cardona had remained away from TNA beyond a one-night return at Bound For Glory 2023.

Cardona will be appearing at Rebellion in Steph De Lander's corner for her TNA Knockouts World Title match against Jordynne Grace.
