Update On Nikkita Lyons' Injury

Nikkita Lyons on the shelf

WWE NXT's Nikkita Lyons has provided an update on her injury.

Lyons was set to compete in the semifinal of the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament on Tuesday's show but she was replaced by Tiffany Stratton after Josh Briggs announced the 22-year-old had suffered an injury in a freak accident while training.

The former Faith The Lioness has since provided an update on her issue on Instagram Live and Lyons revealed she suffered a partial MCL tear and sprain. The injury won't require surgery and Lyons noted she had already begun rehab on her knee.

Lyons has been with WWE since the company recruited her following a Las Vegas tryout over SummerSlam weekend last year. She had her first WWE match on an episode of 205 Live in December 2021 and Lyons then made her full NXT debut on February 22 of this year.

She has quickly become one of the most popular talents on the developmental brand and her finisher - a split-legged pin - immediately went viral following her first TV match.
