There has been no official announcement about the release of WWE's next video game, which is expected to be WWE 2K26, but an update on the game's future has emerged.

Bryan Alvarez of the Wrestling Observer has reported that WWE filmed the commercial for the reveal of WWE 2K26 in December and the advert is scheduled to air at some point in the next few weeks. There is no word on who the cover star of WWE 2K26 will be or when exactly the trailer will air, but the Royal Rumble is scheduled to emanate from Saudi Arabia on Saturday, January 31.

WWE 2K video games have been released during the build to WrestleMania since the series returned from a one-year hiatus in 2022. The cover stars since WWE 2K22 have been Rey Mysterio, John Cena, Cody Rhodes, and Roman Reigns.

2K Games has been the publisher behind the WWE video game series since 2013, when Take-Two Interactive purchased the licensing rights to the series following THQ's bankruptcy. Visual Concepts has developed the title since WWE 2K20, having taken over from YUKE'S.
