Update On Possible Plans For AEW Shockwave

Possible plans for AEW Shockwave

Prior to the announcement of their new media rights deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, reports suggested that All Elite Wrestling were shipping a new show outside of WBD, with broadcasters such as FOX believed to be interested.

The show - believed to be called ‘Shockwave’ - is believed to fill the void that will be left when Rampage ends, although whether Shockwave will be an in-ring show or a recap show is yet to be revealed.

Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reveals that impressions suggest that Tuesday or Thursday would be potential nights for this new show - a deal which makes sense ‘for both parties’.

Whilst earlier reports suggested that FOX channel FS1 could be the home of Shockwave that too has yet to be confirmed. The alleged terms of AEW’s deal with WBD for Dynamite and Collision gives WBD cable exclusivity, meaning that Shockwave would be for a non-cable network such as FOX or ION.

AEW’s new deal with WBD is set to begin in 2025. There is no word yet on when Rampage will come to an end, nor when Shockwave could begin.
