Update On Tony D'Angelo's WWE NXT Status

Tony D'Angelo back in action next week on WWE NXT

Tony D'Angelo won't be out of the ring for much longer.

The Don of NXT was tipped to be a participant in the men's Iron Survivor Challenge at Deadline by Alundra Blayze but Shawn Michaels ruled out D'Angelo being a part of the match, noting he was still a couple of weeks away from a comeback.

D'Angelo will return to the ring ahead of Shawn Michaels' timetable, though, revealing that he will be back in action next week as he begins his quest to exact revenge on NXT North American Champion Wes Lee. D'Angelo revealed he would be returning to the ring while speaking to Dijak, who made his own in-ring return to NXT on the show.

Who D'Angelo will be facing next week has not been revealed.

The 27-year-old had been out of action since sustaining a PCL injury during his NXT North American Title Ladder Match qualifier with Wes Lee in late September. The match was awarded to Lee as D'Angelo was unable to continue.
