Update On Usos Vs. Viking Raiders Match At WWE Elimination Chamber

Why didn't the match take place?

The planned SmackDown Tag Team title match at WWE Elimination Chamber pitting champions The Usos against challengers The Viking Raiders ended up not taking place, due to an attack angle beforehand.

Some have wondered if time constraints or another issue prevented the match from taking place as advertised. However, an update from Fightful Select claims that the non-match was the plan all along, and that nothing was cut for time.

The report goes on to say that the plan is to do the match on SmackDown sometime in the near future.

Jimmy and Jey Uso jumped the Raiders as they were making their way toward the ring for the Tag Team title match, which was slotted just before the main event. The attack ended with the Usos suplexing Ivar onto Erik, after which time the Tag Team title match was called off.

The match between the two teams for Elimination Chamber was originally announced two weeks before the pay-per-view. The Usos have reigned with the belts since July 18, when they defeated Rey and Dominik Mysterio on the kickoff show at Money in the Bank.
