Former three time TNT Champion Wardlow has not competed in a match on AEW programming for over six months, last wrestling on the March 13 episode of AEW Dynamite in a losing effort against then-AEW World Champion Samoa Joe. This came on the back of Wardlow becoming the number one contender for the AEW World Title at the Revolution 2024 PPV, winning an All-Star Gauntlet match.
In the lead-up, it had been teased that Wardlow was set to feud with Undisputed Kingdom leader Adam Cole. Wardlow was originally a part of this group, but in recent months it has been solely Roderick Strong, Matt Taven, and Mike Bennett representing the faction, with both Wardlow & Cole absent. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the reason why Wardlow is not on AEW programming is rather simple - he is just one those on the roster not being used. He was recently shown at the 9/15 Jacksonville Jaguars game, looking healthy.
When it comes to Adam Cole, he was reportedly backstage at AEW All Out 2024 and AEW Dynamite these last few weeks.
