Update On Zelina Vega's Return To WWE

She'll be competing in the women's Money in the Bank ladder match

Eight months after being let go from WWE, Zelina Vega made her return to the organization on SmackDown Friday night, losing to Liv Morgan in a two minute bout.

Though some were shocked to see Vega return, she'd been in contact with WWE about a possible return dating back prior to May, according to a report from Fightful Select.

The report states, "We're told that talks between the two sides had started well before that, and some in WWE let Fightful know that they made an effort to stay in contact throughout the entire process of getting Zelina back."

The report notes that it's unclear if any sort of compromise was made regarding Vega being allowed to stream on Twitch or other services. Refusing to shut down her third-party media outlets was the reported impetus for Vega being released in November.

As far as Vega's real-life husband Aleister Black, there's no indication of a possible return, as it currently stands. While Vega had been listed on internal roster sheets dating back for close to a month, Black's name hasn't, so if he is coming back at some point, nothing appears to be imminent.
