Vince McMahon has revealed the attributes that he believes makes a compelling and engaging heel character in WWE.

McMahon, in his role as WWE Chairman, has helped to create and develop some of the biggest characters to ever grace professional wrestling.

The 75-year-old was speaking as a part of the A&E Biography covering the life of Roddy Piper, who enjoyed a lengthy stint in the then-WWF between 1984-1996, having initially appeared in 1979. Piper would also reappear on WWE television 2003 and 2005.

McMahon would discuss the qualities Piper had that made him one of the best bad guys in wrestling history, identifying the attributes within him that the WWE CEO feels makes the best heels in the business.

McMahon said: "When you look for attributes of a bad guy, you have to be fearless. You have to have the gift of gab. You have to be able to say anything that you want, even though you know it’s going to be controversial.

"You have to have a certain attitude about you. Roddy had all of that and more."
