Wheeler Yuta Reveals Which NJPW Talent He Wants To Face At Forbidden Door

Wheeler Yuta knows who he wants to wrestle at the AEW/NJPW super-show.

AEW's Wheeler Yuta recently spoke to Wrestling Inc. and revealed which NJPW star he'd love to face at Forbidden Door.

“There’s so many, you’re going to have to narrow it down [...] but you just mentioned [Hiroshi] Tanahashi, and I think that Tanahashi is one of the guys that I have always envisioned myself across the ring from. That is someone that I would love to face. I don’t know how this joint pay per view is going to shake out, but Tanahashi is someone that I have always looked up to.”

Yuta also told an anecdote about Tanahashi commentating on his debut match in New Japan Strong, where the Japanese legend joked that he felt he was cheering for his son in support of Yuta.

Wheeler has enjoyed a very successful 2022 so far, winning the ROH Pure Championship from Josh Woods at Supercard of Honor XV, and joining the Blackpool Combat Club stable in AEW, alongside William Regal, Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley.

Forbidden Door, the landmark AEW/NJPW crossover show, is set to take place on June 26 in Chicago, Illinois.
