WWE recently filed a trademark for the term ‘The Mog Squad’, with the application currently ‘pending’.
A report from Bodyslam+ has potentially shed more light on WWE’s plans, with it rumoured that The Mog Squad is set to be a stable consisting of Max Abrams, CJ Valor, Santi Rivera, and Jacari Ball.
The four have recently started assisting each other on WWE Evolve, and it seems as though there are plans for the four to move forward as an official alliance. Whether this stable will fully take flight on Evolve, or if they are set for WWE NXT remains to be seen.
‘Mog’ is a term associated with the manosphere online - whether seriously or mockingly - and refers to ‘mogging’, meaning to be superior to those around you, usually with regards to physicality and looks. It is not a reference to Helen Nicoll and Jan Pieńkowski classic Meg & Mog books, nor Simon Hanselmann’s Megg, Mogg, and Owl comics.
Abrams, Valor, Rivera, and Ball have been in the industry for a handful of years, with Rivera having the most experience having debuted in July 2021 on the Massachusetts indie scene.
