Why WWE Moved Gunther Vs. Sami Zayn From Bad Blood

The reason WWE pulled Gunther vs. Sami Zayn from Bad Blood has been revealed

In somewhat of a surprise, WWE announced earlier this week that the World Heavyweight Title match between Gunther and Sami Zayn would be taking place on the October 7 edition of Monday Night Raw as opposed to the Bad Blood pay-per-view.

Zayn vs. Gunther was listed on the internal card for Bad Blood and it was originally planned to be added to the premium live event. According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, WWE made the change because the company believed Bad Blood didn't need the match and they felt Gunther vs. Zayn could be used to boost Monday Night Raw instead.

Gunther has been World Heavyweight Champion since SummerSlam, while Zayn is the only talent to have defeated Gunther on the WWE main roster.

WWE have utilised a five-match card for their B pay-per-views for much of 2024. That will be the case again at Bad Blood on Saturday, October 5 at Atlanta's State Farm Arena. The card for Bad Blood is as follows:

  • Cody Rhodes & Roman Reigns vs. Solo Sikoa & Jacob Fatu
  • Liv Morgan (c) vs. Rhea Ripley - Women’s World Championship
  • Damian Priest vs. Finn Balor
  • Nia Jax (c) vs. Bayley - WWE Women’s Championship
  • CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre - Hell in a Cell
