AEW Dynamite Fifth Anniversary to feature Will Ospreay vs. Ricochet
Will Ospreay and Ricochet are preparing to break the internet once again, with a first singles match between the two old rivals in an All Elite Wrestling ring confirmed for the upcoming Dynamite Fifth Anniversary show on October 2.
Ever since Ricochet debuted for AEW at All In, fans have been awaiting a return bout between himself and Ospreay, with the pair’s singles clash in the 2016 New Japan Best of the Super Juniors Tournament hailed as a modern classic by some, and ‘flippy nonsense’ by others.
After Ricochet overcame The Beast Mortos on the September 18 edition of Dynamite he found himself face-to-face with Ospreay backstage, where the two exchanged pleasantries before Ricochet formally challenged Ospreay for October 2, having had the match personally rubber-stamped by Tony Khan. Ospreay’s AEW International Championship will be on the line.
The two had a storied feud across the Indies in the mid 2010s, battling across RevPro, Pro Wrestling Guerrilla, New Japan, OTT, and WCPW. The two have not shared a ring since 2017, with Ospreay defeating Ricochet in their last encounter in Newcastle upon Tyne.
