The top names of the independent scene now attract attention from two major suitors in WWE and All Elite Wrestling, and according to

Dave Meltzer in The Wrestling Observer Newsletter

, one particular rising star has caught the eye of both.

Jacob Fatu has been making waves in Major League Wrestling since his debut there earlier this year. The son of Samuel "Tama" Fatu (a member of The Islanders alongside Haku in the 1980s), nephew of Rikishi and Umaga, and cousin of Jimmy and Jey Uso, the 285-pound, seven-year pro could soon be following his famed relatives into the big time.

Writes Meltzer, "WWE had expressed interest in Fatu. Everyone believes he’s going to be a superstar and both AEW and WWE are aware of it."

Fatu challenges for MLW's World Heavyweight title against champion "Filthy" Tom Lawlor in Chicago on July 6.

In addition to MLW, Fatu has also wrestled for Illinois' All American Wrestling, California's All Pro Wrestling, Seattle's DEFY Wrestling, and PCW ULTRA over the past several months.
