WWE Announces Cody Rhodes Is Out For 9 Months

Rhodes underwent successful surgery on Thursday

Raw brand star Cody Rhodes is expected to be out for nine months, as announced by WWE on Friday.

It was announced during Friday's edition of SmackDown that Rhodes is likely to miss nine months of action, due to recently tearing his pectoral tendon.

Rhodes partially tore the tendon in late May, apparently during a brawl with Seth Rollins on the final Raw before Hell in a Cell. He then tore the tendon off the bone while weight training in the days before his pay-per-view match with Rollins.

Despite the injury, Rhodes still performed at Hell in a Cell, defeating Rollins in the main event inside the titular structure.

On the following night's Raw, Rhodes announced that he would have to undergo surgery. He was then attacked by Rollins once more to officially write him out.

Brandi Rhodes announced Thursday on social media that her husband underwent a successful procedure on the torn pectoral.

Rhodes returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in April. He defeated Rollins as a mystery opponent, and then defeated Rollins twice more at subsequent pay-per-views.
