WWE Clash Of Champions Scheduled For September 27

Next PPV is in four weeks...

WWE's next pay-per-view, Clash of Champions, is scheduled for Sunday night, September 27, taking place at the Thunderdome (Amway Center) in Orlando, FL, as confirmed during Sunday night's Payback pay-per-view.

A video package for the event that aired during Payback listed September 20 as the date, but Michael Cole stated afterward that the event will take place on the 27th. PWInsider had reported that the event was originally scheduled for September 20, but the decision was made to push it back one week (possibly due to Payback being added to the mix, and taking place so soon after SummerSlam).

This will be the fourth time in the last five years that WWE has run Clash of Champions (2018 being the exception), and the third time that the event occurs in September.

Traditionally, every single championship belt in WWE is defended at the event, which was generally the case for the similarly-named Night of Champions events, which ran from 2007 through 2015 (and in the month of September from 2010 onward).

Last year's event saw ten different title matches, only two of which changed hands (both Raw and SmackDown's Tag Team titles).
