WWE Clash Of Champions Set For September

The gold laden classic returns

As WWE gears up for a return of live crowds, they have started loading up the PPV schedule, and have announced the return of Clash of Champion in September 2021.

The show will be the fifth iteration of the PPV since its introduction in 2016, and will be held at the Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio on September 26 2021.

Clash of Champions replaced the Vengeance/Night of Champions PPV, with the show gimmick being that most of, if not all active titles on WWE’s main roster are to be defended.

The name is a spin on the classic Clash of the Champions name used by the NWA/JCP/WCW from March 1988 until August 1997. WCW’s version was a TV special rather than a PPV event, and ran for 35 shows in that timeframe.

The majority of WWE’s Clash of Champions events have been held in September, bar the 2017 edition which took place in December. There was no event in 2018, with Hell in a cell taking the September spot instead.
