WWE Edits Charlotte Flair & Becky Lynch Exchange Out Of SmackDown

The segment led to backstage tensions

WWE reportedly edited the encore edition of last week's Friday Night SmackDown in order to remove the controversial exchange between Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair.

The show-closing segment of the Friday 22 October SmackDown saw Lynch and Flair exchange Championships, in order to represent the brands that they had been respectively switched to during the 2021 WWE Draft.

The segment was notable due to Charlotte Flair's conduct during the live angle which, according to multiple reports, led to a legitimate confrontation between the two backstage following the angle.

While original plans called for Lynch to snatch Flair's Title away from her, Charlotte would instead drop her belt before giving it to Sonya Deville. This moment was, per Fightful, edited out of WWE's encore SmackDown on Saturday, with the shot instead showing the crowd before returning to the ring action.

Lynch threw her Title at Flair, which was kept in the edit.

The moment was not included at all on WWE's YouTube, which can be viewed below. The segment instead 'begins' with Sasha Banks' interruption.
